Fishing on Lake Okeechobee
Lake Okeechobee, Florida's largest lake and one of the most storied bass fisheries in the country, sits at the heart of the state. Its shallow, grass-lined waters have produced trophy largemouth bass for generations of anglers, and it remains a bucket-list freshwater destination well away from the coast.
The grass flats around Clewiston and Moore Haven are classic bass water, particularly in the cooler months when fish move shallow to spawn. Local guides running out of the lake's rim canals know the grass lines and hydrilla beds that hold fish through the heat of summer.
Lake Okeechobee is a freshwater destination. We currently offer only the non-resident saltwater fishing license issued by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC), so there is no license to buy through us for fishing here.
Planning to fish Florida’s coast too?
We handle the non-resident saltwater fishing license for the Atlantic coast, the Gulf, and the Keys.
